Common questions

Will Sembang take over my existing WhatsApp number?+
No. It connects through Meta's official WhatsApp Cloud API alongside your number. Your customers see the same number they always have, and your team still has full inbox access.
What languages does it actually handle well?+
Today: English, Bahasa Malaysia, Mandarin (simplified), and the natural code-mix between them — Manglish, Bahasa-rojak, Mandarin-Singlish. Bahasa Indonesia and Vietnamese are next, planned for Q3 2026.
What happens to my customer's data?+
Conversations are stored in our infrastructure (Singapore region, hosted on Google Cloud) and used only to operate your account. We don't sell data, train public models on it, or share it with other Sembang customers. Full data export and delete on request.
Can a customer opt out of talking to the AI?+
Yes — if a customer says any variant of 'talk to a human', Sembang routes immediately and silences itself for that thread for 24 hours. You can also flag any customer as human-only forever.
Does it work with my existing CRM?+
At launch we support webhook out — pipe leads to anything that takes a webhook (HubSpot, Notion, Google Sheets, Pipedrive). Direct CRM connectors come after Phase 2.
What does it cost compared to hiring someone?+
